The name of the organisation is The Evangelical Alliance of Luxembourg, (Alliance Evangélique, Evangelesch Allianz; Evangelische Allianz, Aliança Evangélica) hereinafter referred to as 'AEL'.
The purpose of the organisation is:
- to be a community of evangelical Christians, who confess the same principles of faith, to make evident the unity in Christ, which unites all believers in the Holy Spirit;
- to stimulate and further prayer with each other and for one another;
- to stimulate and co-ordinate evangelistic and missionary actions, especially in respect of the necessity to work for the gospel in Luxembourg;
- to exchange information about activities and requirements of the members;
- to stimulate and/or approve joint projects concerning theological instruction, Bible study, making use of media, etc;
- to arrange and carry out conferences and conventions, which help to promote the purposes of the EAL;
- to defend the rights and practice of religious liberty where persecution and discrimination are found;
- to make representation and present Christian requests to churches, governments and the Luxembourgish public, and to provide assistance to the government and the authorities concerning questions about the evangelical churches.
